The book is in excellent condition bound in buckram with decorated boards and titled spine. The book's slipcase is in very good condition with minimal shelfwear. Illustrated by Michael Kirkham, the book contains 9 colour plates. 

 

The book contains a plate acknowledging previous owner's contribution to the Oxford Literary Festival.

 

Max Beerbohm was a 19th century dandy and humourist. This is his only novel and is a satire on undergraduate life at Oxford University. The first edition was published in 1911 and it tells the tale of a femme fatale in an all-male domain.
